The Regional Development Co.'s long-time office manager Carla Lundgren is retiring, effective April 28.

Lundgren's background in the title industry made her the go-to person on title and property issues during her 11 years at Valparaiso-based RDC.

“(Carla) is probably the most organized person I have ever met,” said RDC President Erica Dombey in a press release. “We will miss her attention to detail, patience and kindness towards our customers, and her never-ending desire to go above and beyond.”

Dombey said her mom gave her a reference for Lundgren.

“When I asked my mom for a reference, she told me that I ‘would be stupid if I didn't hire her,'” Dombey said. “Well, as usual, mom was right!”

Lundgren and her husband plan to travel and catch up with family and friends in retirement.

The RDC encourages clients to still use the admin@rdc504.org email for questions.

The U.S. Small Business Administration certified the RDC in 1994 to administer the SBA 504 loan program for the seven counties of Lake, Porter, La Porte, Jasper, Newton, Starke and Pulaski. In 2003, the RDC was allowed to serve the entire state of Indiana. In 2013 the RDC expanded into Illinois. The organization has funded more than 500 loans.
