Astronaut David Wolf visits Purdue

            WEST LAFAYETTE – Purdue alumnus and astronaut David Wolf will be on campus Friday, Oct. 29, to talk about his experiences as an astronaut. His talk begins at 7 p.m. (EST) in Stewart Center’s Fowler Hall.

            On Oct. 30, Wolf will take part in Purdue’s annual Space Day.

            Wolf was chief of the Astronaut Office Extravehicular Activity for most of the International Space Station assembly and led a team that was responsible for space walks. He has logged 168 days, 12 hours, 56 minutes in space over four missions. His longest was 128 days aboard the Russian Mir space station. He also has made seven space walks totaling 47 hours.

            Wolf’s visit to campus is through the College of Engineering and the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Space Day will be presented to some 600 school children in grades three through eight.
