LAPORTE – The LaPorte Hospital Foundation is looking for student artists to design an award for the half-marathon runners in this year’s Tour de LaPorte.
The 11th annual Tour de LaPorte will be Saturday, Aug. 25, and Sunday, Aug. 26, at Soldiers Memorial Park. It includes several different competitive and casual bike, run and walk events. However, the art contest will focus solely on the half-marathon 21K chip-timed competitive run.
Awards will be given to the top three half-marathon finishers in each age category. Interested student artists should submit a hand-drawn design to the Foundation, 1007 Lincolnway, LaPorte. All submission must have a name and grade (as of fall 2012) on the back in order to be judged anonymously. Submissions are due Friday, July 6. Winners will be notified in mid-July.
