Gov. Eric Holcomb, Region leaders and representatives from Michigan-based pizza giant Domino’s will be in Merrillville at 10 a.m. Sept. 17 for a ceremonial ground breaking for the company’s new $50.3 million facility.

The project was announced in late May. Domino’s plans to build and equip a 110,000-square-foot regional pizza dough production and warehouse facility on a 15.2-acre property at the Ameriplex at the Crossroads business park along I-65. The facility could employ up to 140 people by the end of 2023.

When the project was announced, Domino’s said jobs in Merrillville would include full-time warehouse, production, and Class A and Class B CDL driver positions.

Company representatives have said the facility will service Domino’s stores throughout Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
