BURNS HARBOR – Even though the St. Lawrence Seaway closed at the end of December, the Port of Indiana load 16,000 tons of grain onto the “James Kuber” a lake going freighter.

The grain was loaded from Cargill’s facility at the port and was being shipped to Sarnia, Ontario, where the grain will be used by an ethanol plant.

Cargill operates a 7 million bushel grain elevator at the Port of Indiana.
