Northern Tool + Equipment, a Minnesota-based supplier of tools and equipment, is expanding in the greater Chicago area with the opening of a new location at 8205 Broadway in Merrillville.
The company expects the store to open in October and will be its fourth store in Indiana. It has two stores in Indianapolis and one in Fort Wayne and operates more than 100 stores across 22 states.
“Opening up this new Merrillville store is an important step for our company, and we see great potential in this market and are excited to introduce ourselves and help our customers get serious jobs done,” said Joe Apolloni, senior vice president of retail at Northern Tool + Equipment. “We understand the hard-working Midwestern values and are looking forward to equipping the people here with the right tools and quality gear.”
The new 20,389-square-foot Merrillville store will employ 20 people and will sell assorted well-known name brand tools including Milwaukee and Honda. The store also will also offer a parts, service and repair department.
