MICHIGAN CITY – Voodoo Ride, an automotive surface care product, has approved for sale in more than 4,400 Auto Zone retailers nationwide, said co-founder Tim Jahnz of Michigan City. He co-founded the company with NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.
The product was test-marketed in 250 Auto Zone stores along the East Coast and the numbers showed the product would be viable in a nationwide launch, said Jahnz.
“It has been a tough couple of years, dealing with the economic slowdown, but our product quality has kept us in the game,” said Jahnz.
He said it took four years from the time the product was introduced until the Auto Zone announcement.
At the same time, Jahnz said Kmart is doing a national rollout of Voodoo Ride products and sportswear, including a limited edition NASCAR diecast of the No. 7 Voodoo Ride car.
