Franciscan Health has a new and modernized facility for pediatric services in Crown Point.

The health system on Feb.5 dedicated the $3 million facility, which recently opened at 1141 S. Indiana Ave. next to the Franciscan Physician Network St. Clare Health Center. The new 10,250-square-foot site has 18 exam rooms and features child-friendly finishes.

“We’re very proud to have a facility like this in Crown Point,” Franciscan Health Crown Point President and CEO Dr. Daniel McCormick said during the dedication event. “We’re very proud to be able to provide the services that our physicians are providing.”

Franciscan staff said the new location provides a more comfortable and functional environment.

The practice was founded in 1996, according to Dr. Silvia Vicente, a staff pediatrician. Patient volume has grown along with the population of the Region.

“There are more young families in the Region, and they keep coming to see us because they trust us as their doctors,” she said. “The one belief that has been at the core of this practice from the beginning is that people matter.”
