Save the Dunes hosts music festival

MICHIGAN CITY – Save the Dunes, one of Indiana’s oldest nonprofit environmental organizations, will host its first music festival, Jammin’ for the Dunes from 4 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, in Washington Park. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

Bands include Chester Brown, Stealin’ the Farm, Tommy Thompson Band, Ron Buffington and others. Craft beer from Shoreline in Michigan City and Figure Eight in Valparaiso will be available, along with food from local vendors Café Elite, Soda Dog, Bubbles Ice Cream and Lakeshore Coffee.

Tickets are $15 at the door. Advance tickets are $10 and are available at Shoreline Brewery, 208 Wabash St.) or at the Save the Dunes Gift Shop on U.S. 12 in Beverly Shores.

Before the festival from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., volunteers are needed to clean up the beach in Washington Park as part of an international beach cleanup day.

Proceeds benefit Save the Dunes.
