State of IndianaCris Johnston recently was named director of the Office of Management and Budget by Gov. Eric Holcomb.

Johnston most recently served as the governor’s deputy chief of staff. He replaces Micah Vincent, who is leaving the post to serve as interim state budget director until a replacement is named.

Johnston will take over the Office of Management and Budget on June 30.

“Cris is a veteran who will step seamlessly into the OMB role and assist with the financing of large infrastructure projects, such as the West Lake and South Shore rail expansions in northwest Indiana,” Holcomb said.

Johnston joined the Holcomb administration as deputy chief of staff in May 2018. He previously served eight years for former Gov. Mitch Daniels as the executive director of the Office of Management and Budget’s division of government efficiency and later, as deputy chief of staff.
