Small Business Week programs offer help to entrepreneurs, start-ups

Small businesses make an impact on the state’s economy and the Indiana Small Business Development Center – Northwest wants to do more to help companies succeed and aid start-ups get off the ground.

During National Small Business Week May 5 through May 11, the Region's office of the ISBDC will present the following programs:

  • May 7, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Economic Development Corp. Michigan City, Two Cadence Park Plaza, Michigan City; Improve your restaurant operations for independent restaurant or food truck owners and managers. Register here.
  • May 7, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Purdue Technology Center, 9800 Connecticut Drive, Crown Point; Business Start-Up 101. Register here.
  • May 10, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Purdue Technology Center, 9800 Connecticut Drive, Crown Point; Funding Options for New and Small Businesses. Register here.

In 2018, the Northwest ISBDC office was involved in creating 1,265 jobs and assisted 318 new businesses. There are 508,000 small businesses in Indiana that support 1.2 million jobs.
