MERRILLVILLE – MonoSol, a Kuraray Division, is proud to announce its New Business and Innovations team was inducted into The Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana during its 13th Annual Innovators Induction Ceremony on Thursday, October 26.
“Our New Business and Innovations team is a small, yet creative group of individuals seeking to discover new ways to expand MonoSol’s water-soluble film technologies into new markets,” said P. Scott Bening, President & CEO, MonoSol LLC. “This team excels at combining everyday items with our film technology to create brand new applications and we are honored they have been recognized for their efforts.”
The Society of Innovators acknowledged the MonoSol team for its role in bringing transformational innovation to the personal care market through the launch of Shaving Cream Minis, which provide users with an exact amount of shaving cream in a packet that dissolves with water. Created with Pacific Shaving Company, this new packaging evolution replaces bulky cans and tubes and leaves no waste. The easy-to-use pods make it more convenient to use at home, the gym or when traveling.
“MonoSol was inducted as a new team member this year, because they are a great example of the significant innovation taking place in northwest Indiana every day and impacting the world,” said John Davis, managing director, The Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana, Ivy Tech Community College.
Individuals and project teams are nominated to The Society of Innovators. They are selected through a rigorous process by regional leaders who confer upon them honorary Membership. In 2010, MonoSol’s Bening was inducted as a Fellow of The Society, which noted his role in leading the company’s growth by spearheading the invention and development of unique applications for water-soluble films. Innovation at MonoSol is helping fuel double-digital revenue growth. The company is expected to hire about 100 new employees over the next 18 months. Full-time openings are available in its Merrillville Corporate Headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Portage/Duneland and La Porte. Positions include engineering, chemist/research & development, production, customer service and sales.
