VALPARAISO – La Porte Hospital and Porter Regional Hospital have combined the hospitals’ two occupational medicine service lines – Porter’s Health At Work and La Porte’s Occupational Health – to become one new comprehensive program called Workforce Health. The new service will combine the unique strengths of both occupational health and wellness initiatives under one umbrella and serve Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan.
Workforce Health has four conveniently located comprehensive occupational health clinics with in-house x-ray and physical therapy in Valparaiso, Portage, La Porte and South Bend. A network of coordinated urgent care and emergency services are also offered for after-hour care when the occupational health clinics are closed.
“We understand a healthy workplace contributes to a healthy bottom line,” said Workforce Health Regional Director Mark Savage. “By combining the unique strengths of the two service lines, we’ll be offering local businesses more comprehensive occupational health, ergonomic/safety initiatives and wellness programs – all services to foster a safe and healthy work environment.”
According to Savage, the goal in developing Workforce Health was to combine the best of each hospital’s programs and offer region businesses a higher quality and more value-driven occupational medicine and wellness service.
