GARY – The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana will host the 13th Annual 5K Walk and Run for Hunger on Saturday, October 3rd at the Gary/Chicago International Airport. Registration begins at 8am, race will follow at 9:15am. One-hundred percent of the proceeds of the 5K will be used to stock the shelves of local food pantries and soup kitchens, just in time to meet the increased demand during the holiday season.
Register for the 5K Walk/Run for Hunger at 5Kwalkforhunger2015.eventbrite.com. Participants can register with an existing team, create their own team, or run or walk as an individual. Walk registration is $10/person and Runner registration is $25/per person and includes official chip timing. All registered participants will receive breakfast, snacks and a race bag. Participants can receive an event Tshirt after raising $50 total (includes walker or runner registration).
The course will cover 5K (3.1 miles) of paved road on airport grounds. Registration, refreshments and Start/Finish line will be directly in front of the airport terminal.
