The inaugural flight from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) descended into South Bend International Airport (SBN) on October 26, 2014 at 9:23 p.m. In celebration of the first nonstop flight from New York City, passengers were greeted at Gate A7 by Airport and United Airlines representatives, and received Welcome to South Bend gift bags. Abraham Marcus, St. Joseph County Airport Authority Board of Directors Vice President arrived on this flight. All media were invited to have access onto the ramp for footage of the incoming aircraft and interviews with Mr. Marcus and United representatives.
