“Shining beacons” of community service were honored by NIPSCO at a Thursday night presentation of the company's Luminary Awards. Jim Stanley, NIPSCO chief executive, described the five recipients that way, and said “there inidividuals and organizations here truly helped light the way for those who follow.”

South Shore Clean Cities‘ focus on reducing dependency on oil earned it an award, Kathleen O'Leary said. “The most compelling sign of the organization's success has been bringing together environmental groups, communities and industry,” she said.
