Porter Health Care System recently named Elaine Johnson-Merkel, Director of the Women & Children’s Pavilion, as Porter's Clinical Manager-of-the-Year, and Amanda Pape, Director of Decision Support Services, as Porter's Non-Clinical Manager-of-the-Year.

As Director of the Women & Children’s Pavilion, Johnson-Merkel oversees all services provided throughout the pavilion which encompasses the entire fourth floor of Porter Regional Hospital. Dedicated areas in the pavilion include labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum; a newborn nursery; the pediatric unit; a Level II+ Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; plus additional private rooms for women of all ages.

As director of Decision Support Services, Pape provides information related to statistics, cost, quality and profitability on projects and initiatives that support the health care system’s strategic plan.
