IU South Bend has received its largest single philanthropic donation, a $5.85 million gift from the Vera Z. Dwyer Charitable Trust. The gift includes $2.5 million to be used for scholarships for The College of Health Services; $1.5 million will be used to create the endowed Vera Z. Dwyer Distinguished Chair in Advance Nursing Practice; and the final $1 million will come in the form of a guaranteed matching pledge for the campus Health and Wellness Center to offer low-cost services to the community. IU South Bend has more than 8,000 students and offers more than 100 degrees in the South Bend region.
