SOUTH BEND – The College Football Hall of Fame in downtown South Bend will honor those who have given their lives in defense of the country over the Memorial Day weekend.
The hall will present a new exhibit featuring Pat Tillman who was a veteran and a College Football Hall of Famer. The exhibit will pay tribute to his leadership on and off the field during college and professional football. Tillman left the NFL and enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 2002. He joined the Army Rangers and served several tours in combat before being killed in Afghanistan in 2004.
During the Memorial Day weekend, there is free admission for all military personnel, reduced admission for families and friends of military guests and the first 25 military guests will receive a free special commemorative poster.
