The Hammond-based Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce will host a luncheon with Phil Taillon of the South Shore Convention & Visitors Authority on Aug. 14.
Taillon was appointed president and CEO of the South Shore Convention & Visitors Authority in May. The SSCVA promotes Lake County’s tourism industry. Prior to joining the SSCVA, Taillon served as the city of Hammond’s chief of staff.
Community members and business leaders are invited to hear about the future of tourism in Northwest Indiana and efforts to make the Region a destination to visit, live and work.
The event will take place Aug. 14 at the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana in Gary. Check-in and networking will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served during the program from noon to 1 p.m.

The South Shore Convention & Visitors Authority promotes the Region as a destination for visitors and events. The organization works to grow and showcase Northwest Indiana's cultural heritage. The South Shore Convention & Visitors Authority was founded in 1983.
Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce works to strengthen the vitality of East Chicago, Hammond and Northwest Indiana. The chamber offers a variety of programs and services. The Lakeshore Chamber co-founded the Lake County Economic Alliance, a nonprofit organization that focuses on marketing and attracting, retaining and expanding businesses throughout Lake County.
