Amateur boxing is coming back for a second round in Highland on Nov. 11.

Boxing promoter Tiffany Griffin is bringing the event to the Lincoln Community Center at 2450 Lincoln St.

The first event in July attracted 500 people, and City of Champions Boxing expects more fans this round.

Featured fighters will include Cat Aiuria, Dawn Mazarakis, Rosa Torres, Jermaine Howlett, Reuben Galvan and Giovanni Clara.

Griffin, a former amateur boxer and now trainer, said she began promoting boxers to give them opportunities to fight for a larger audience. She said it is difficult for boxers to find quality events. She also wants to help protect them.

Griffin did box for awhile. “I had some wins and losses, a lot of losses,” she said in a press release.

But her interest changed as she started watching matches, then learning how to be a timekeeper and later a judge. Finally, she turned to training fighters.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and matches begin at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on the City of Champions Boxing website.
