Urban League hosts symposium

The Urban League of Northwest Indiana is hosting a diversity and inclusion symposium March 14 in Valparaiso.

The symposium will focus on diversity, inclusion and leadership. The Urban League encourages business owners, educators, community leaders, nonprofit organizations and police and fire personnel to attend.

The event will feature guest speakers, workshops and opportunities to connect with other participants.

The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 14 at Valparaiso University’s Harre Union at 1509 Chapel Drive in Valparaiso.

The Urban League of Northwest Indiana works to improve social, educational and economic conditions for African Americans and other minority groups in Lake, Porter and La Porte counties. The organization was founded in 1945. The Urban League of Northwest Indiana is based in Gary.
