Urschel expands into Canada

Chesterton-based Urschel recently announced the opening of Urschel Canada in Vaughan, Ontario.

The newly constructed location features a test cutting facility. Customers can test Urschel machinery and learn about existing models.

To staff the new facility, Urschel hired Derek Lynch as director of sales, Angel Alvarado as eastern sales manager and Miguel Lutz as western sales manager. The company also hired support staff.

“Derek, Angel and Miguel offer extensive knowledge of the food processing industry and expansion of the Urschel Global Network into Canada will greatly benefit Urschel customers,” said Alan Major, chief sales officer, in a press release.

Urschel manufactures and sells industrial cutting machinery. Founded in 1910, the company makes dicers, slicers, shredders and particle size reduction machinery. Urschel food cutting equipment has been distributed in Canada since the 1950s.
