Michael Schrage, CEO and chairman of Centier Bank’s board, recently announced Janet Gary’s promotion to officer of the bank.

Gary joined Centier Bank in 2005 in deposit operations. She moved to Arizona two years later to begin a career in education. Gary enjoyed working with students but returned home to Northwest Indiana in 2011. She rejoined Centier Bank in the loan operations department.

“My hope in my role is to be a mentor and leader for my team, reflecting patience, kindness, sincerity and empathy to continue to provide the well-known Centier experience the community and clients have come to depend on,” Gary said in a press release.

Gary is an alumna of Bishop Noll High School in Hammond and the University of Illinois. She resides in Merrillville. Gary spends time volunteering at Phil’s Friends, a nonprofit organization providing support for people affected by cancer.

“Having a servant heart is something I am proud of, and I genuinely care for the well-being of others,” she said.

Centier Bank has served communities in Indiana since 1895. The bank currently has over 60 offices across 11 counties. Centier Bank has ranked on Forbes’ list of Best-in-State Banks from 2018 to 2023.
