MERRILLVILLE – The Legacy Foundation has announced the promotion of Barry C. Tyler to program officer. Tyler will be responsible for grass-roots administration, statistical record keeping and reporting, public relations, and providing support for the initiatives of Legacy Foundation.

“Barry is a great asset to Legacy, but more importantly he is a great asset to the community in general,” said Harry J. VandeVelde III, president and CEO. “Barry loves the region and his involvement in various programs over the past two years exemplifies this.”

Tyler has been Legacy’s community initiatives officers since 2010. Previously he was executive director of The First Tee of Hammond, a non-profit organization that teaches life skills to children through golf instruction. He is a resident of Hammond and is a graduate of Wabash College.
