Gary-based IronWorkz Corp. announced plans for THE Summit: An Emerging of Ideas to crack the code on entrepreneurship April 25-26.
The two-day event is supported by a $40,000 grant from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation through the Community Collaboration Fund.
The summit aims to provide Northwest Indiana entrepreneurs with resources, knowledge and networking opportunities. Entrepreneurs at all stages can listen to keynotes, panel discussions and chats led by industry experts. Partners are committed to strengthening the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem through a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.
“We understand the unique challenges and aspirations of entrepreneurs across Northwest Indiana,” said Faith Spencer, IronWorkz president and CEO, in a press release. “THE Summit is more than just an event; it is a catalyst for transformation.
IronWorkz wants to equip entrepreneurs with the tools, resources and connections to help them overcome obstacles. The organization hopes to empower them to build thriving businesses that contribute to the vibrancy and resilience of their communities.
Partners for the event include Indiana University Northwest’s School of Business & Economics, Lakeshore Public Media, Purdue Northwest’s Society of Innovators and The E Marie Project.
“THE Summit is not only a learning opportunity but also a platform for entrepreneurs to take meaningful steps towards their success,” Chuck Roberts, Lakeshore Public Media president and CEO, said. “It’s an exciting opportunity for the Region’s business leaders and innovators to come together, learn and take action.”

Faith Spencer and Emmani Ellis founded IronWorkz in 2022. They chose the name IronWorkz because of Gary's steel mills, where many families worked after migrating from the South to create a better life for their families. IronWorkz helps to connect Gary residents with tools and resources to succeed as business owners and entrepreneurs.
