Valparaiso University and Ivy Tech Community College recently entered into a Dual Admission Partnership Agreement.

Students who are accepted into the DAP will be admitted into Ivy Tech and Valparaiso University at the same time. After earning an associate degree from Ivy Tech, students can transfer to Valparaiso University. Eligible students can receive a Valparaiso University transfer scholarship of $23,000 per year. Students will receive academic advising from both institutions and create a degree plan at the start of their time at Ivy Tech.

“I look forward to working with Ivy Tech as we enhance the education of exceptional young people in our Region,” said Jose Padilla, Valparaiso University president, in a press release. “This partnership will play a major role in educating and retaining a diverse array of professionals that will benefit the community.”

While attending Ivy Tech, students who are part of the DAP will have a Valparaiso University email and student ID. They can use the library system and participate in university athletic events, theater productions and concerts. On-campus housing may also be provided based on factors, including availability.

“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to providing students with a seamless and supportive college experience,” said Aco Sikoski, chancellor at Ivy Tech’s Valparaiso campus. “This agreement is a significant step towards that goal, and we couldn't be more excited to walk hand in hand with Valparaiso University on this path.”

To be eligible, students must be accepted into Ivy Tech and complete a Dual Admission application for both institutions. More information about the program requirements is available by contacting Ivy Tech’s or Valparaiso University’s admissions offices.
