WorkOne Northwest Indiana and Goodwill are offering free retail training for young adults between the ages 16 and 24 at the Gary Goodwill Store.

With the start of the traditional holiday shopping season around the corner, a partnership between two local organizations wants to make sure young adults have the right skills to work in retail.

WorkOne Northwest Indiana and Goodwill are offering free retail training for young adults between the ages 16 and 24 at the Gary Goodwill Store.

Training will be provided by Goodwill through the National Retail Federation. Participants who successfully complete the training will earn a certification in retail sales and customer service.

WorkOne and Goodwill say the training and certification will provide a competitive advantage to individuals seeking seasonal retail employment or potentially regular employment.

Participants must be between the ages of 16 and 24 and must enroll in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act youth out-of-school program available through WorkOne.

Additional information is available on the WorkOne website or by calling Tracey McLean at 219-384-9683.
