VALPARAISO – Valparaiso is considering a proposal from Metronet, an Evansville company, to operate a fiber-optic network for telephone, Internet and television service. The plan would lower the cost of customers in the city.
Metronet provides similar service to a dozen other cities in the state. If the plan is approved, the city said cable and satellite subscribers could see lower bills, even if they don’t sign up for the program.
The project would cost up to $20 million if approved.
