MERRILLVILLE – The strike between Local 26 of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers and the Northwest Indiana Roofing Contractors Association has ended.

A tentative agreement has been reached and work as resumed throughout the region, according Don Schwartz, a Chicago lawyer who was involved in the negotiations. The issue was wages and dues collection since Indiana is now a right to work state.

Local 26 has more than 300 members.
