HAMMOND – Purdue University has announced it has canceled plans to open a technology center in Chicago, and instead will concentrate on finding a location in Northwest Indiana.
The university has not said where it would be located, but wants to find a center that is close to its Purdue Calumet campus in Hammond.
Purdue already operates a research facility in Merrillville, but that is managed by the West Lafayette campus. The new centers would be operated as a separate facility.
