The Northwest Indiana Forum is postponing its Aug. 20 event.
The program, which was scheduled to provide an update on the Ignite the Region initiative with U.S. Congressman Pete Visclosky as the featured presenter and hosted at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton, was delayed because of recent restrictions imposed by the Porter County Health Department on events with more than 100 attendees and other logistical issues, Forum representatives said in an Aug. 14 email.
The Forum said it is working to reschedule the event for a later date. Tickets purchased ahead of time will be honored at the rescheduled event.
Ignite the Region is a long-term strategy to strengthen Northwest Indiana’s economy. The Forum and community partners have been working on the initiative the past two years.
The implementation teams are focusing on five pillars including business development and marketing, entrepreneurship and innovation, talent, placemaking and infrastructure.
