Jim Concato, director of oncology services at Methodist Hospitals, was one of six Indiana health care professionals named a 2018 Cancer Control Champion by the Indiana Cancer Consortium, a coalition working to prevent, control, and reduce cancer in Indiana.

He was recognized for exhibiting leadership in implementing the ICC Cancer Control Plan through participation in action teams, and local cancer coalitions.

“Jim shows strong dedication to cancer prevention and control and has demonstrated high leadership capability through regional coalitions,” said Rishika Chauhan, director, Indiana Cancer Consortium. “He has taken on additional projects, led initiative efforts, led recruiting efforts, and served and an ICC ally throughout his region, District 1. He truly shows the commitment and passion necessary to be an ICC Cancer Control Champion.”

The 2018 ICC Annual Meeting was recently held at Ivy Tech Corporate College and Culinary Center in Indianapolis. Concato was nominated by Rachelle Anthony, hospitals health systems manager at the American Cancer Society.
