LAPORTE – Graphic Packaging International Inc. has announced it is closing its LaPorte operation, a decision that will put 130 people out of work.
President and CEO David Scheible said work will be transferred to other plants across the country. The closing will take place over the last quarter of 2011 and the first quarter of 2012.
Graphic Packaging is a subsidiary of Graphic Packaging Holding Co., based in Marietta, Ga. It supplies paperboard packaging for the food and beverage industries.
