LAPORTE – The Pyrotechnics Guild convention held in LaPorte County in August pumped $3.5 million into the local economy, according to the LaPorte County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Of that amount, $1 million was tax revenue and another $800,000 in wages as a result of employment during the week-long event.
PGI holds its annual meetings at various places around the country and this was only the second time it had been held in Indiana.
