KENTLAND – Bonnell Aluminum, an extrusion plant, has announced it will close its Newton County operation this summer. The closing will put 146 people out of work.
Bonnell is owned by Tredegar Corp. of Richmond, Va., which said the plant had been losing money for several years. Tedegar has owned the Kentland factory since 1973.
It manufactured aluminum supplies for the building and construction industry. Sales were $38 million in 2010.
