Educators seeking a teaching or administrative position with a school in Northwest Indiana should mark April 22 on their calendars.

Indiana University Northwest will host its fifth annual teacher recruitment fair from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at IUN’s Savannah Center, 65 W. 33rd Ave. in Gary.

More than 30 Region schools and school corporations will interview prospective teachers and administrators to fill immediate vacancies.

IUN launched the fair to help Region schools meet growing needs for teachers in Northwest Indiana in traditional, charter, and private schools. The fair has drawn as many as 100 prospective candidates.

Participating schools and school corporations, including individual public, charter, and private schools, will be actively recruiting candidates to fill available positions for teachers, administrators, and more. Several schools are urgently seeking to hire teachers and administrators for all grades and subjects as soon as possible, IUN said.

The event is free and open to qualified graduating students and alumni from any college or university. Previous fairs have attracted students and alumni from Northwestern University, Grand Valley State University, and Ball State University.
