GARY – The State Emergency Medical Services Commission has granted Emergency Medical Training Basic Certification to Ryan DesCamp. He is one of the few students to receive the rating before the age of 18.

DesCamp graduated at the top of Methodist Hospitals’ EMTB class and was valedictorian at Andrean High School with a 4.7 grade point average out of 4.0.

Prompt Ambulance hired him as an EMT in June and he now attends college at IUPUI. He is studying premed with the goal of becoming a neonatologist. He lives with his family in Griffith when not at school and continues to work with Prompt Ambulance when he is one on weekends or on break.
