SOUTH BEND – Downtown South Bend, Inc.‘s (DTSB) Board of Directors announce the appointment of Jill Scicchitano as the organization’s new executive director. Scicchitano will be responsible for working with the Board of Directors to further the mission of the organization, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, and continuing the partnerships with key supporters of DTSB. She began this role on December 1st 2016.
Jill has been with DTSB for 2 years serving as the Director of Business Engagement and Interim Executive Director. Jill brings over ten years of leadership and event management experience in the hospitality industry. She is experienced in developing and implementing strategies for achievement through cultivating relevant and meaningful relationships, effective financial/budgeting performance, sales & marketing initiatives, brand and advertising campaigns, project management, customer service and employee relations. Previous to this, Jill held various leadership positions managing the day to day operations of convention centers in Florida, New York and Indiana.
Jill led a team of professionals in successfully creating a vibrant outdoor entertainment venue with extensive programming of events, festivals and concerts in partnership with an economic development firm in Western NY at the brink of the iconic Niagara Falls. She has also worked on business development opportunities for a private management firm and worked with a professional women’s soccer team. Jill holds a Master of Education degree in Sport and Recreation Administration, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Temple University.
Jill is excited to continue her work with the downtown community in this new role. “This transition provides a wonderful opportunity to advance the mission of DTSB and continue to build our relationship the downtown business owners, residents, and visitors.” Said Jill Scicchitano.

DTSB staff will continue to work closely with the downtown South Bend business community focusing their efforts on recruiting and providing business resources until a new Director of Business Engagement is chosen.
