Indiana capitalRecent college graduates interested in learning more about Indiana state government or seeking information about pursuing a career in the public sector have a unique opportunity through Gov. Eric Holcomb’s Fellowship program.

Deadline to apply for the fellowship is Feb. 28. Representatives for the governor said the selection process is competitive but those selected will have the experience of working in various state agencies on a rotating basis for one year. The program is open to college graduates who received their bachelors degree in fall 2019 or are receiving their degree this spring.

Fellows are paid, full-time employees who participate in the day-to-day activities of state government.

“Our Governor’s Fellows are such a valuable piece to our team,” Holcomb said. “The wide range of assistance they provide over the course of their fellowship is key to serving Hoosiers in a timely and thorough manner.”

The state said many Governor’s Fellow participants have gone on to successful careers in both the public and private sectors — with some serving at the highest levels of local, state and federal government.

The application and submission guidelines can be found on the state’s website. Questions about the program should be directed to Jim Suess in the governor’s office at jsuess@gov.in.gov.
