Byers Softball Complex Hosting Wounded WarriorsSOUTH BEND – The Byers Softball Complex is hosting the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) practice from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. WWAST is in South Bend, Indiana as part of their tour to a softball tournament in Topeka, Indiana.

WWAST is a 501(c)(3) public charity whose mission is to inspire and educate others while enhancing the health and welfare of Wounded Warrior Amputees. The WWAST organization represents some of our nation’s bravest and most determined heroes, soldiers and veterans. These men have sustained severe injuries resulting in amputation, and through extensive rehabilitation, they have become competitive athletes again, playing against able-bodied teams in exhibition games all across the country.

Venues Parks & Arts is a department in the City of South Bend that works to create exceptional experiences and opportunities in the city.
