MERRILLVILLE – The University of Phoenix is closing its Merrillville campus at 8401 Ohio St., part of a nationwide closing of 25 campuses and 95 satellite campuses.
The impact of the closing on the campus’s 200 students is still being determined, but no new students are being enrolled in Merrillville. The closing puts 13 employees out of work.
Apollo Group Inc., the parent company for University of Phoenix, said the closings were prompted by an earnings report for the fiscal four quarter in which net income was down 60 percent.
