Strack & Van Til round up campaign raises more than $43,000 for Meals on Wheels

Meals on WheelsMeals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana has faced increased demand to deliver meals to residents sheltered in place around the Region since March because of the pandemic.

Numerous residents and businesses have donated resources to assist organizations helping residents affected by COVID-19. Highland-based Strack & Van Till is the latest to assist Meals on Wheels with its mission.

Strack & Van Till conducted a round up campaign between May 4 and May 17, where shoppers were asked to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar with the extra funds going to Meals on Wheels. The campaign raised $43,431.09 for the organization.

“Strack & Van Til customers continue to amaze us with their compassion and generosity,” said Jeff Strack, CEO of Strack & Van Til. “The health and well-being of people in the communities we serve is so important to Strack & Van Til, and we are thrilled that our customers gave so much to help our senior neighbors.”

During the pandemic, Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana has expanded its services to meet community needs. During June, Meals on Wheels clients will receive free weekend frozen meals, which will be partially paid for by funds raised during the recent Strack & Van Til round up campaign.

Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana delivers meals 1,400 meals daily to people in Lake, Porter, Newton, Jasper, and Starke counties.
