PNC named to Presidential Service Honor Roll

WESTVILLE – Purdue University North Central for the sixth consecutive year has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary service in recognition of its students and their commitment to bettering their communities through community service and service learning.

The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll recognizes higher education institutions that reflect the values of exemplary community service and achieve meaningful outcomes in their communities. Inspired by the thousands of college students who traveled across the country to support relief efforts along the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina, the initiative celebrates the transformative power and volunteer spirit that exists within the higher education community.

The Honor Roll recognizes 642 colleges and universities. “It is a tremendous accomplishment for PNC to be part of the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll again this year,” said PNC Chancellor James B. Dworkin. Service learning and community engagement have become a way of life at PNC. Our students are visible community members who seek out and take on volunteer projects. Their service benefits all members of the community and helps them gain and appreciation of giving that will promote a life-long commitment to volunteerism and community service.
