MICHIGAN CITY – The Michigan City Paper Box Co. has asked the city for tax abatement so it can upgrade its equipment.
The company wants to spend $725,000 for two automated lines to make rigid boxes for commercial and retail customers.
Michigan City Paper Box officials the upgrade will help it retain 54 jobs and add four new jobs. The plant has a payroll of $1.6 million.
