CROWN POINT – South Shore Clean Cities has announced a partnership with Ozinga Ready Mix Concrete Inc., to power two of its cement mixer truck by compressed natural gas.
Carl Lisek of South Shore Clean Cities said the new fuel source will cut down on carbon emissions. Since cement trucks idle for long period of time, the use of CNG will eliminate diesel emissions.
Ozinga purchased the trucks from McNeilus Truck Manufacturing in Oshkosh, Wis.
