PORTAGE – The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission has announced it will consider proposals for a new office. NIRPC has been in Portage since 1993, but its 20-year lease on its current office at 6100 Southport Road expires this year.
Before moving to Portage, NIRPC was based in Highland.
NIRPC, which funnels federal transportation funds to local projects in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties, has 27 employees.
The agency will seek requests for proposals for new offices. NIRPC shares office space with the Northwest Indiana Forum.
