SOUTH BEND – The Morris Performing Arts Center continues to shine on the Pollstar 2012 Year End Top 100 Worldwide Theatre Venue rankings. The Morris is listed at No. 76 based on Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 ticket sales, as reported in Pollstar magazine, the concert industry’s leading trade publication.
South Bend’s favorite live performance venue shines alongside such well-known venues as Radio City Music Hall in New York City and the Fox Theatres in Atlanta and Detroit, and ranks above Clowes Memorial Hall in Indianapolis and the Congress Theater in Chicago. The Pollstar 2012 Year End rankings include 22 venues located in other countries.
Originally opening in 1921, The Morris is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was restored and renovated in 2000.
The Morris has a seating capacity of 2,564 and has been consistently ranked each year since 2000 by Pollstar concert industry magazine among the top 100 theaters worldwide.
