MICHIGAN CITY – Two Michigan City companies have received tax abatement from the City Council, allowing both to acquire new equipment to expand production.
KTR Corp. received tax abatement on $1.4 million of technology equipment that will allow it to hire 20 people and expand its production of wind generator equipment. The company currently has 43 employees.
Sager Metal Strip Co. received an abatement for $430,000 to acquire new IT equipment. The expansion will add three employees; the company currently has 41 workers. The company manufactures custom conveyor devices for the food and beverage industries.
