Methodist Hospitals has appointed two new directors to lead key health system operations.
Casey Kalvaitis was named director of human resources operations and compliance. Kalvaitis joined Methodist from Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute, where he was chief operating officer, and prior to that, human resources director.
Kalvaitis has nearly 20 years of human resources experience with major national corporations, including Family Express Corp., Dollar General, and Aldi Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Valparaiso University and a Master of Science in management, strategy and leadership from Michigan State University.
Kalvaitis is a member of the American Management Association and the Society of Human Resource Management, and is a Society of Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional.
Mary Byrne was named director of supply chain. She joined Methodist from Northwestern Medicine, where she was director of corporate purchasing, responsible for the procurement functions of an integrated network of 11 hospitals, associated clinics, intermediate care centers and physician offices.
Byrne has more 30 years of experience in supply chain and materials management at major health care providers including MetroSouth Medical Center, Rush University Medical Center and Swedish Covenant Hospital.
Byrne earned a bachelor’s degree at DePaul University Chicago and is a 2019 recipient of the Dorian Wright Award for Achievement in Supply Chain Management given by the Association for Healthcare Resource and Supply Chain Management.
